Who should read this book?  Any man, single or in a relationship who wants to know or re-discover what it is that women like in men!

David DeAngelo is known as a dating guru. The author of many excellent books and programs over the years, David’s name came to the attention of an expectant dating public with the release of Double Your Dating, which was recently updated and revamped.

Having written a series of articles introducing Double Your Dating in my blog, here is the continuation of my personal review:

David DeAngelo cites the launch of his book as the result of a quest which made him question why he never had much luck with the women he wanted to date.  Having realized he was just “no good” at it, he also observed that whilst he was being overlooked by the women he was interested in, some his friends on the other hand seemed to have a natural knack to attract them. “These friends were not rich or particularly handsome and yet they were able to attract the most beautiful women without effort” is a complaint that David made to himself and thus began a journey which would lead to Double Your Dating.

It turns out that his decision and subsequent findings actually affected thousands of men who avidly devoured his book, changing their whole approach to women and transforming themselves to the extend that they were now amongst the ones “who had the knack” of “pulling” the ladies in.  That Double Your Dating is still so wildly accepted as the definitive How to Date Guide shows its importance and is one reason why any man would want to have a look at it.  Another reason is of course that it’s really not expensive but that’s for you to decide.

How credible can this claim be then and more importantly would I learn anything from his book is one of the things I set out to investigate and before you go on, please let it be known that I am a married man and as such do not have a “singles persona” when reporting on this book.  However, as a married man, many of the lessons taught in Double Your Dating certainly ring a bell and this why I think this is a book that would benefit any man, whether he is single or married.

One of the things that I noticed during my reading of the book is that as I was progressing through the pages, I would often remark to myself that a particular section seemed common sense to me in the validity of the advice given and the recommended set of approaches proposed by the author and as one chapter became another I began to form a solid idea about the core of Double Your Dating the book which certainly has a strong focus on the basic foundations and principles required for any relationship to be successful. These principles are based on the intriguing unknown of the nature of human attraction, what it takes to attract and seduce someone of the opposite sex, the steps needed to develop a comfort and self sufficient zone in which a man can become attractive to a woman.

Unlike other books where one line pickup sentences are sometimes the extent of the advise they give, (as if one line fits all situations), Double Your Dating actually gives full details about how to react in nearly all situations.

Use common sense, adapt and apply seems to be its biggest attraction, as well as the very real advice it gives. In other words, be the attractive man you are meant to be by taking steps to move from someone who has not had the best luck in attracting women into someone who is comfortable enough that women will actually want to know you. Be the man women want and desire.

Self confidence is an issue which the Double Your Dating delves into in great details. As you read it, you will realize that some the traits which usually prevent a shy man to gather the courage to approach a beautiful woman may actually be found in your own personality. As you get to page 41 for example, you will be able to discover an amazing method that if applied will transform you completely in the eyes of the women you really want. It will give you the foundations to develop a deeply held self confidence which will in turn transform your appearance and you behavior.

David DeAngelo lets you into the 6 different types of insecurities that women generally unattractive in men. Whilst it is not a physiological dissertation, it is certainly an in depth analysis of each and every one of these 6 types of insecurities, how to spot them and more importantly how to control and overcome them. As you read these specific pages, you will no doubt have your own ha-ha moment realizing that you had failed in previous attempts to woo the ladies of your dreams because your shyness, stemming from deeply rooted insecurities was screaming to these ladies not to notice you!

As the words turn into pages, and you move from chapter to chapter, not only do you find yourself often nodding to yourself that yeah… this all makes sense…

But you also gather along the way some really important clues about just about anything relating to dating.

… And of course how to approach and then attract a woman. Things like what to say to start a conversation to catch her attention and how to throw humor into the mix to sustain her initial interest. At this stage you may say to yourself that you don’t actually think you have a sense of humor that women find attractive and this would a sign of these insecurities you have.

David DeAngelo talks about the concept of “Cocky and Funny” as a means to draw a woman in and whilst,  at the onset,  I thought his choice of words might lead to some misunderstanding, I realized that what he was really talking about was the art of being playful, funny and friendly. (As opposed to being Cocky and Arrogant for example.)

And “Double Your Dating” is not just there to open the door and leave the rest to you, but it actually delves into the various areas that come after the first meeting. Like what to do so that the first kiss happens faster than you could ever have hoped for. Or how to get her telephone number for your next date etc….

The Cons…

When researching for this article, I came across Double Your Dating reviews emphasizing how this book is like “The Holy Bible of mastering the female species”, which at once I found inappropriate with regards to how some reviewers out there refer to women.  I should say that David DeAngelo is not the one who is referring to ladies as such but it made me realize that as a 50 odd year old, I must be lacking the testosterones that some of the obviously vastly younger men seemed to display in their own dissertations. “This book is intended for a younger audience” is certainly something I considered for a wile, but we all know that youth and experience have a wide age interpretation in their ranges and some 50 year old men routinely seem to have the maturity of men half their age and vice a versa.

Double Your Dating certainly packs a punch in terms of information, tips and how to insights that have the potential to increase self improvement and thus lead to a situation where a man finally becomes successful with women.  In an easy to read, well written book, David DeAngelo takes any man on a tour of self discovery during which a reader will discover some basic truths about himself and set upon the process of correcting those issues and insecurities that have caused him so much heart ache in his previous dating endeavors.
