So you wanted to get her phone number then did you?
Beware what you wish for though….
“Dutch Woman Allegedly Calls Ex Boyfriend…
.. 65 …
… Thousand …
… Times…
… In the past year…”
And just in case you think you just misread the numbers, well, you didn’t.
In Holland, prosecutors have charged a 42 year old woman with stalking for allegedly calling her ex-boyfriend 65,000 times in one year.
The ex, a 62 year old man who denied the two even had a relationship filed a police complaint in August which resulted in the police confiscating several cell phones, and computers from the woman’s home in Rotterdam.
The court ordered her not to contact him again, an order that surprised said lady as she felt the number of calls she placed to him wasn’t excessive.
And you thought you had problems with your own ex?

OMG……
This is really really bad. Past relationships can also be very bad in retrospect. But not all former friends are like that. Fortunately;-)

That’s absolutely crazy~~ 65,000 times and she doesn’t think it is excessive!! How many would be excessive to her!! I haven’t had an Ex in many many years, and I sure as heck know I wouldn’t have even called once a year!!
[Reply]
Yes, I would say 65,000 times is excessive! More like stalking. This is an interesting case, not so much for it’s legal side but because it shows how far off people can be when it comes to what they consider excessive.
I’m not sure if this is gender-based or simply differences among people. I think probably the latter.
Thanks for spreading the word here!

That is a lot of times to call an ex-boyfriend, she must’ve thought he’d take her back! Sounds like she’s put him off her for the rest of his life.
I love your blog Stevie, it’s very creative and fun!

I can remember the first time I looked at my daughter’s cell phone and saw 3500 text messages in one month. That is more than 100 per day.
Needless to say we took steps to address that problem.

I can relate on this! I remember my first phone conversation that last for 10 hours.

65K calls. Wow. Talk about obsessive. That is truly scary. Til now the worst story I had heard was the girl who called a 900 number in Japan and left the reciever open all weekend when the boyfriend was gone.
He came back to 50K plus in phone bills.
Cheers,
Chase

Wow, that is quite bizarre . It’s unfortunate what the love/hate relationship does to some people. It can drive them crazy! You want them, you don’t want them, you hate them, you don’t hate them, you are jealous, unforgiving, etc. The list can be enormous.
I feel blessed after reading that!
So thanks for sharing. (grin)

I guess she really liked him a whole lot, maybe she thought they were soul mates. I have been in situations like this and to be honest sometimes it was them and sometimes it was me. What we preceive as love can be a very strong inter drive to act apon, even if they are not all the smart moves. I am just so glad I got passed my twenties without embarrassing myself too much. ttyl(: P.S. Can I call you? and then call you again? LOL

I think to make 65K calls, translates that this person needs a lot of help; lives in a world of desperation and lack of peace. It is just me, my idea is if a person does not appreciate me; there is no point to waste energy and time in the case. There are a lot of beautiful and caring people out there yet to meet.

Marcus, Yes that’s true. perhaps they thought they would end up happy on their conversations. Did it end up on a nice way?

65,000?? I was so LOL with this Stevie.
She must be very very very determined to get her ex back.. LOL
Thanks for sharing this

Well, I guess the woman just can’t move on.. 65,000 times is absolutely crazy..lol

I heard them talking about this on Chelsea Lately. They were cracking jokes as to why it took the guy 65K calls in order for him to report her.

What a cute, yet creepy story. It reminds me of good it is to be out of the whole dating scene. And after reading this, I think I’ll just stay clear. Wow!

You would think that after the first sixty four thousand times that he didn’t pick up she would have got the hint. My gosh, talk about having a tough time letting go!

65000 phone calls? Wow! I don’t even want to count how many times she called per day. Really creepy…
[Reply]
Wow, 65,000 calls. That blows my mind. Can you imagine? The phone was probably ringing 24 hours a day! That is insane.

WOW – talk about taking it to the extreme! 65,000 calls in a year? I wonder how many times a day that works out to… Too many, I’m sure!!
[Reply]
Talk about being excessive. How did she every pay for all thouse calls and where did she find the time. It is amazing how technology has brought out the craziness in some people.
[Reply]
65,000 phone calls in a year is a bit excessive and the woman needs to learn to control herself. On the other hand I can see how woman can call too many times. As women we can multitask and we always have 3-5 thought running through our heads and a guy your crushing on is a consistent. If the guy doesn’t call it is a temptation to call him.

A bit excessive?

Some people really are nutters. The guy reckons he never even had a relationship with her, imagine how many times she would have called if they did in fact have a relationship!

I know! It’s hard to believe! Talk about obsessive behavior!
[Reply]
This is a reminder that what you believe in your own mind is so much more powerful than the truth. This lady must have convinced herself, and reinforced it each time she called or texted, that he really was interested in her. She probably felt that she was reaching him so she might as well keep on trying. But how did he let it get to 65,000. He could have fought back after 50 or even 100 of these messages. Very strange and eerie story.
[Reply]
Holy Cow, that is a lot of calling. The only thing that might have made it worth it is if she was incredibly rich and incredibly hot!!!
[Reply]
This is very bed news.Today there are many different-2 people of cruller heart live in this world who leave it’s girl friend or boyfriend. He live with them for time pass.

Haha, this makes me think of that story about the female astronaut who drove in the diapers to see the man she was allegedly in an affair with a few years ago. Some people just can’t take a hint! Thanks I needed a laugh.

Scary stuff… I am so glad to be happily married with a grown up family also married.
I would hate to go back to that dating stuff again….stuff of nightmares for me
Best wishes

Ami, I almost forgot completely about that astronaut in diapers. What a crazy story… this is a crazy story too. It women like this make men think that we are all crazy.

This is just sad, I think he should move or change his phone number soon.

I would honestly pay to hear some of the voice messages that were left on that poor, poor guy’s phone! Imagine some of that ranting and raving that went on!
